Daytona Beach, FL. - April 28, 2004 - Mail-Block Corporation announced today:
America Online (AOL) is responsible for sending unsolicited e-mail messages (SPAM) to its servers located in Florida. Using VERGL (Verified Embedded Random Generated Link), the technology behind Mail-Block, Mail-Block Corp. has been able to track and stop all attempts from reaching its users.
The security staff at Mail-Block.com have been able to document several violations of the newly passed Senate Bill 877 aka, Can Spam Act. With further investigation we can see that Netscape owned by AOL has used its network as well as the network of Double Click located at 450 West 33 rd Street. New York, NY, to transmit this bulk commercial advertisement.
This development is surprising due in part to the efforts on the part of AOL the Dulles VA, Internet Service that pushed so hard for the passage of the Can Spam Act. One need only look to recent news accounts showing over 2 million less users on the AOL system to see why they would want to do online promotions to capture back user numbers.
AOL seems to suffer from the classic position of, “Don’t Throw Stones When You Live in a Glass House”. Now more than ever people are using Mail-Block to protect their personal privacy and on going attacks by online marketers now including AOL.
Mail-Block has provided online documentation of the unsolicited messages sent through their servers promoting AOL products below.
Note: User names have been altered to protect user privacy.
