Port Tracking Report Explanation

This report will show the following:

  • Application Name - This is the listing of applications that are currently being run on the computer. This will show everything that is making a connection to the Internet.
  • PID - Every system has over 65,000 ports. This lists which port ID number is being used for the transfer of information
  • Protocol - This will list whether the application mentioned to the left is using either TCP or UDP protocols to communicate.
  • Local Address: Port - This is the Internet address of the user's computer. This is the IP that information will be sent to.
  • Remote Address: Port - This is the Internet Address of where the incoming packet is coming from. This will list either a specific IP, or if one is not currently detected, it will give a status (such as 'listening for packets/connections')

NOTE: The HTML version of this report will not show the PID
